Now I now what all the hubbub is about. Boston is the memory of a lifetime. I cannot believe the scores of people who line up to cheer you on. Hearing your name being yelled over and over again for 26.2 miles is incredible. The girls of Wellesley are definitely legendary. I was high-fiving them until halfway through when I had to move away from them - it got so emotional for me that I started hyperventilating! At that point I just pointed at them and they pointed back. It was awesome. Can you imagine how fast everyone would go if they were lined up the whole way??

I ran into Val Burgos on Heartbreak Hill. It's a good thing I did because until she told me, I had no idea it was The Hill! She stormed down the hill and left me in the dust.

When I turned on to Hereford St at Kenmore Square I stopped to hug my Sister Patti and Cousin Dan. People started yelling "You're almost there!" Val must have told them I would be needing directions! :-)

One more corner and I was home free. The finish line was like an oasis and seemed so faaar away. It was lonely at the end. At the finish of MCM last year I was met by Donna, Julia, Val and a couple of other friends. So I congratulated those around me and went and had my chip taken off by the seated volunteer. Hmmm..wasn't I the one sitting down at MCM? I got two blankets and made myself quite the fashion queen and went in search for the rest of the family.

Time 4:34:05 - Chip 4:24:25 This must seem an eternity for some of you. For me it was 20 minutes faster than MCM!

We then went for massages, showers, dinner and dancing. The next day I boarded a plane for Bosnia and Croatia, returning two days ago. But that's another story!
