hi folks!

well boston brought me a new kind of PR :-)......

3 poop stops (miles 13, 19 and 21!) that is.

egads what a day! things were dandy up till about mile thirteen up to which i was enjoying the company of chicagoan isola metz. she's someone i think i'll have to recruit for the list :-). i lost contact with her when i stopped for the first pit stop at 13. i think i lost a good 8-10 minutes with those daggone poop stops/waiting in line. i'll have to look closely at all my splits later.

i finally stopped drinking anything at mile 19 in hopes i'd not falter too much and just did the walk/run thing in varying intervals to the end. so much for my "i'm never gonna run another 4 hr marathon" plan! oh well :-(. the legs are good today, and seem not too much worse for the wear. guess all that stopping saved 'em ;-P. maybe *some* day i'll run this course well.

great big thanks go to robin cain for the great saturday encounter, val burgos for the wonderful bagel brunch, tim smith & doug dodds for the sunday run in cambridge, and jim adams for the sunday dinner planning. you all did a great job!

it was great to see so many familiar faces throughout the weekend this time around!

hearty congrats go to tim newell who had a stellar race! and to all who came, endured the prerace chills, and ran that nifty course. i saw some very happy faces at the finish :-).

the crowds were absolutely fabulous. and hey! doug dodds, i'm sorry i wasn't more chipper when you encouraged me! BTW the boston finish and post-race mayhem still needs some "work" if ya ask me! maybe the BAA can check out Chicago's finish line and all the post race goodies/help :-).

back to work i go...congrats, too, to all who ran other races this weekend!
