This
is the second draft...
I
drove back from the Boston area on Tuesday and it's been non-stop since.
Had
to go to work Tuesday through today and the kids were on vacation. What
a
week.
Boston
was, as always, the most amazing experience in the world. I think it
was
my worst in terms of time (4:27) and physical discomfort (I won't say
p**n!)
but the whole weekend was so much fun.
I was on my own for the whole
weekend
when my sister MJ came down sick with the flu. I had a place in
Boston
to myself, the encounter (thanks Val and Robin) was great, I took the
T
to Julia's and she drove me (a real Boston experience! Thanks, Julia) to
the
encounter. I attended the
Dana-Farber dinner and although very
emotional
it was inspiring.
I
can never say enough about the Boston crowd. Every once in a while I
flash
on something someone called to me and it just makes me LOL! Thanks to
the
ad that was on during the Olympics, I heard the song, "oh, Donna..."
more
than I can count!
I
toured more port-a-johns than ever enroute to Boston, I cried when I met
the
Dana-Farber children and parents at mile 25 in Kenmore Square, finally
looked
to see the Citgo sign up close and personal, and was relieved when I
saw
that finish line.
This
was marathon number 19, my 7th Boston, and well, I'll be back next
year!
Thanks
to all the Deads for a great Boston Race Odyssey
Donna
in Maine where there's still snow in my backyard!
