I won't bore anyone with the details, but the Boston
experience was everything I'd hoped it would be. Not
my best performance from a time standpoint, but maybe
the best effort I've ever given. Couldn't have done
it without those spectators. No matter how much you
read about them beforehand, you can't appreciate them
until you're there.
I should point out that I managed to get lost and walk
aimlessly for two hours while searching for the Sunday
bagel brunch. By the time I got to what appeared to
be 21 Appleton St., it was about 1:15 p.m. Since
there was no sign on the door indicating that there
was a DRS event there and since I didn't hear anyone
talking when I walked inside the door, I assumed the
party was over. So I'm sorry I didn't get to meet any
of the deads. I found that Bostonians were really
good at giving directions to major landmarks (Fenway,
Copley, Kenmore, etc), but you get a lot of blank
stares when you mention specific addresses!!
