Constructions

The Dome

We first made a dome from rolled up newspaper. Each sheet looked pretty flimsy, we learned the power of the TRIANGLE.

After rolling the newspaper, a base made of 10 rolls was placed on the floor. Then elevation began. At first Richard and Chris had to hold the sides. They quickly realized they needed more help.

Bryan became the third worker. Soon the first layer was almost done. Instead of staples, they had to tape the edges. Even then the vertices keep coming apart until we borrowed the stapler from the office that had longer staples.

Lisa, Justin, Siobhain and Ryan Dutton helped with the next layer. AS the sides got higher, the construction seemed to be less sturfy. Would this thing ever stand?

Nicole and Jen get interested. As the edges start coming together, we can see how it will be able to stand on its own.

Jay and Ryan Tardiff help hold the final edges.

Every project needs an overseer and an assistant. Mr. Rubé volunteered to be the assistant.
