Ordering Prints of Your Images from Your Files

My Fine Art archival Printing Service is for artists and photographers who require fine art, quality prints from their images, both color and black&white. You do all corrections and enhancements - send the files "ready to print." I print your images directly from your files. I do not do work in Photoshop for you or make test prints, but I will inform you if there is a problem with a file. I strongly suggest you calibrate your monitor.

All images are printed using an Epson 4800 printer using k3 inks and archival paper similar to what the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Nash Editions, and other fine galleries use in their print processing. Images are printed on paper larger than the image which leaves a white border on all fours sides to allow room for matting (see chart below.) All papers used are acid and lignin free and exhibit an expanded color gamut, maximum contrast and high ink load. I recommend having prints them framed using rag mat board and museum quality conservation glass.

My printing application is ImagePrint. It is designed for the Epson 4800 and comes with excellent profiles for the paper - ink combinations I use. ImagePrint is epecially well known to provide neutral tones with its special profiles for black and white inks. As an added service I can print black and white as duotones, tritones, and quadtones. See the link below for examples - if you want this option write the information in the commesnt section of the order form.

Papers used are:

1. Epson Ultra Smooth matte paper for fine art prints. It has a tiny surface texture and is favored for its subtle tone. It is used by many museums. A review can be found here.

2. Epson Premium Luster Paper has a photographic feel that some labs call E surface. Premium luster is known for its vibrant colors which really shine with the new k3 type of ultrachrome ink found in the 4800. Up till now, luster hasn't been associated with archival quality but this paper has changed that view.

Important: Let me know which paper you prefer. If you do not specify a paper I will use Premium Luster.

Preparing files:

Profile your files to: RGB working space in either *.jpg or *.tiff formats at 240 to 300/dpi. Get them to look exactly the way you want on your monitor. Add sharpening as desired. This RGB color space prints best for both Color and B&W prints in either 8 or 16/bit modes. You may use a naming convention such as:

IMG_2346_8x10_Qty2_PremL
IMG_2346_5x7_Qty4_UltraS

which would clearly show all details of the order.

I currently have two ways to send me your files:

1. Place files on a cd or dvd and mail them to
